Voters who receive a vote-by-mail ballot are encouraged to mail it well before Election Day. Union County recommends placing a ballot in the mail at least seven days before November 3. Residents may also use a secure ballot drop box.

Fanwood’s drop box is located at the Fanwood Historic Train Station and Museum, 230 North Avenue. It is on the north side of the building. The Union County Board of Elections states that its secure drop boxes are monitored by camera, and ballots are collected by a bipartisan Board of Elections team with a police escort.

For the General Election, Union County drop boxes open September 18 and close promptly at 8 p.m. on November 3. A complete list of county drop box locations is available at ucnj.org/boe/ballot-drop-box-locations, and voters will also find location information on their sample ballots.

Residents with questions about vote-by-mail ballots or other election procedures may contact the Union County Clerk’s Office at 908-527-4996. Voters should review official county information as Election Day approaches, particularly if they have a question about ballot return, early voting or their polling location.
